About us

For people and planet

slow making

Tapestry & Tales is rooted in respect for both people and planet. Our scarves are crafted with time-honoured techniques and a commitment to sustainability. Each piece is made thoughtfully, honouring heritage while protecting the natural world.

Born from a love of stories, our designs celebrate the wonder of English gardens and the creatures that inhabit them. Moths, beetles and other overlooked forms sit alongside familiar blooms, creating scarves that carry their own tale in silk. We believe in protecting this delicate balance and honour the environment at every step of our process.

Production takes place in England where traditional craft and slow making are respected. Every scarf is printed in Macclesfield on the finest silk and finished by skilled artisans with a hand-rolled hem, ensuring a luxurious finish that endures.

Every design begins with observation

beauty in the unseen

Each scarf begins in the English garden, where layered plants and often-overlooked creatures offer endless inspiration. Every design is hand illustrated to retain its human touch.

These scarves are not just accessories but pieces created with meaning and depth. The feel of silk against your skin connects you to the hands and artistry behind every design.

for the love of making

behind the brand

Tapestry & Tales scarves begin with a love of making by hand and a fascination with the natural world. Each design is hand illustrated by Kim Coppo, then refined digitally to blend traditional craft with modern techniques. Inspired as much by moths and beetles as by blooms and foliage, her work celebrates the overlooked details of nature with an edge of storytelling and intrigue.

Kim studied design for visual communication at the University of the Arts London, following a background in ballet and opera. Her creative work has been recognised internationally, with her short film Line, Circle, Square featured at the International Moving Type Festival in Warsaw. This combination of visual and musical artistry shapes every part of her process, from illustration to the videos and animations that bring the brand’s stories to life.
